Danny Suges - Vice President

Danny was born & raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He is a 1984 Boswell High School Graduate who earned All District honors in both Football & Baseball, playing Linebacker and 3rd Base. He earned All Tarrant County honors & was named District “Sophomore of the Year.”  Before his college days, Danny played American Legion summer ball and earned All-Star honors to travel & compete in several tournaments, including NBC World Series & Connie Mack qualifiers. Danny received multiple offers from top ranked Baseball programs, including Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas & UNLV to play at the next level. Upon graduating from Boswell HS, Danny chose to play at UNLV. After spending a fall season competing with the Hustlin’ Rebels, Danny decided it was best to transfer closer to home & enrolled at North Texas State University. (Now UNT) Danny was not awarded a scholarship that first Spring semester of 1985, but was told by NTSU’s Coach Price, “If you come here to play & make the team, you will earn a scholarship.” Danny immediately made the travel roster & started several games his Freshman year in the Mean Green outfield and was awarded a scholarship as promised by Coach Price. Danny holds the Freshman record for most RBI’s in a game with 5, when he belted a Grand Slam and followed that with an RBI sacrifice fly  against Lamar University. As a Sophomore, Danny moved to the infield and shared playing time at 2nd Base and then moved over to his natural position at 3rd Base for his Junior & Senior seasons. Some of Danny’s career highlights are hitting Home Runs at Baylor, OU & Texas A&M, hitting a double against Texas at Disch-Falk Field and his game winning bases clearing Triple at Arkansas State. Danny’s favorite Mean Green baseball team memory is beating #1 ranked Oklahoma State in 1987 at UTA’s field. Danny is one of the few 4 year Letterman that played D1 baseball for the Mean Green (1985-1988.)

Danny has been married to wife Lisa for over 33 years, which he met during his playing days at NTSU. Danny has a daughter, Myka and son Austin and two beautiful Grand Daughters, Finley & Piper.

Danny coached several baseball Travel teams & Varsity Fall Ball teams in Coppell & Celina, while coaching his son Austin. Danny has always been active in Youth & High School baseball instruction, teaching the fundamentals of the game. Danny attributes his knowledge of the game from his experiences playing college baseball & his love of the game from his Dad, “Doc” Suges who was his biggest fan & pushed him to always be the best.  Danny is thankful for the many relationships built with teammates & coaches during & after his playing days.
