NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
January 31, 2023
Dear Mean Green Baseball Supporters,
The last couple of months have been an eventful time for U.N.T. athletics. We hired a new football coach that is bringing new excitement to our program. And with Wren Baker leaving his athletic director position here to go to West Virginia, we now have a new athletic director also. We believe Jared Mosley and his staff will do an outstanding job and that he is someone who is fully vested in growing the athletic programs at U.N.T. and ensuring our success.
The Mean Green Baseball Project has also been busy. We have had some exciting things happen also. We had a strategy meeting as a group just after Christmas to plan for the new year. In that meeting we knew our number one goal was to get a meeting with Jared Mosley. We did get that meeting and it was a very positive meeting. Baseball is definitely on the near radar of the Mean Green. The first priority is getting the new athletics center built so that our student athletes have enough living space. And we are fully behind that. But we feel like we have a chance to be next. We also feel like after 35 years of excuses, we deserve to be next.
That is where you come in. We have to have your continued support and your continued push in making sure baseball is at the front of the list and not on the long-term goals. We have had some exciting things happen to help expedite baseball. Through social media, solid contacts, and word of mouth, the DFW baseball community is now keenly aware that baseball is being pushed at U.N.T. And they are excited and asking questions and beginning to push the envelope. The DFW baseball community understands what a sleeping giant the Mean Green have in baseball, and they want baseball here badly for the student/athletes in this talent rich area. We have had people throw out ideas like initially playing at the Frisco Roughriders stadium the first few years since we have a new U.N.T. Frisco campus right there. Not a bad idea. We have been approached by independent minor league franchises that want to visit with our athletic department about a joint stadium venture coupled with a minor league franchise in Denton. And we have had numerous conversations with people who are willing to help push this through. They just want to know what they can do.
We have also had conversations with outstanding baseball people who would love to be a part of building a program here at U.N.T. Baseball coaches all over the country realize what a baseball hotbed Denton is laying in and how good the program could be.
As always, money will be the key. We have to find that big donor to get a stadium and the quicker that person or people or organization is found then the quicker baseball will happen. The stadium does not have to be outlandishly big but does need to be a solid D1 stadium that can be added on to as we grow the program.
And when baseball does happen at U.N.T, it will be glorious. There will be nothing better than a warm spring night in Denton watching our Mean Green baseball team play another tough conference foe and coming out victorious.
Light the Tower Green! It is time for Mean Green Baseball.
Yours in Baseball,

Dear Mean Green Nation,
November 10, 2022
Dear Mean Green Baseball Project Supporters,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my message. We hope that you were able to come see us at our homecoming tailgate. We handed out 250 shirts which we found out quickly were way too few. And we handed out 1,000 koozies. Hopefully, it really increased our message that U.N.T. needs to bring back baseball and bring it back very soon.
We also were able to secure a suite where we were able to visit with Wren Baker and several other people in the athletic department along with a lot of very interested potential donors.
The bottom line is we need support. We need at the very minimum a flood of emails to the athletic director, the president of the university, and the board of regents letting them know that you want baseball back very soon. And that you will go to the games. Whether that be through season tickets or just a pledge to be there as often as you can. We also need money and we need pledges of big money from people who are very invested in this project. Followers and money will do the talking.
U.N.T. needs to get its athletic center expanded and it needs a new baseball stadium and team within the next three years. The only way to do that is with your help.
We will be back and we will have more shirts, etc. and we will come up with other ways to get our message across. But, we cannot do it without a lot of help from all the wonderful people we are coming into contact with. Go Mean Green!
Thanks for your support.

We have just received GAME CHANGING major news and it came about 4 months earlier than expected. We received a letter yesterday notifying us that we have been approved for 501 C (3) non profit status. This means that donations are now tax deductible. So, please get your checkbooks out and make an end of the year donation. Once we reach our goal of 50k and continue to get the word out and continue to garner more and more support and donations we will begin to start taking in pledges from big donors who are ready to get this thing rolling. PLEASE help build on the momentum and donate to the cause. Also, we are looking for people to join our booster club committee, and our fund-raising committee. Fill out the information sheet on the contact us button on our webpage and help us explode the call for Mean Green Baseball. Also, remember to come by the tailgate November 5th and pick up your t-shirt or koozie. And hang out for a while.

Greetings from the Bring It Back crew! We hope you are well. U.N.T. needs a baseball team. We are in a huge talent hotbed and we are in a very nice city, and we are a large and prestigious university. It has been 35 years since we had a program and we need it back in the next 3-5 years.
Our group wants all existing programs to be very successful while adding baseball and whatever women’s sports we need to add. We want all groups to be successful BUT we are adamant that baseball needs to be back now and not later. We think it will make our athletics program more marketable to bigger conferences in the future as the landscape of college athletics continues to change. It will only enhance our value, not take away from our value as an athletics program. We keep hearing the time is not right. But, we have heard that for 3.5 decades now and we are very clear in our goal. The time is now.
We will be hosting a tailgate on November 5th when our football team plays its homecoming game against Florida International University. We will be there from 10:00 a.m. or before until the game begins at 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in our project please stop by our tent and pick up a free koozie or t-shirt and learn more about our mission. And have fun with us.
